Bobbi-Jo Starr is in Indigenous Singer Songwriter, based out of Edmonton, Alberta. Originally from Peerless Trout First Nation in Treaty 8 Territory, Bobbi-Jo’s music today, is deeply influenced, by the experience of overcoming addiction, her connection with the land and water and the teachings she learned on how to live miyo-pimatisiwin (the good life).

“Music is my means of connection with the natural world. Its how I connect with others and share the messages that need to be heard. I write music with the hope and the intent, I can make a difference and raise awareness about what’s truly important in this life.”

Starrs’ music evokes the heart with emotional lyrics meant to inspire change and encourage others to become advocates for the water, create the change in their own lives and think about future generations. After hardest lessons in life, we must practice living the vision we see for ourselves now. The future is now.”

Recently, Bobbi-Jo Starr has completed a residency at Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity in 2023 and actively creating opportunities to share her music with others in the community. Bobbi-Jo plans to recording her album this year. You can also follow Bobbi-Jo on social media platforms.
