Bobbi-Jo Starr announces the first single release off her debut Album with Music Video, “She Stands for Truth and Justice,” Releasing ***AUGUST 1, 2026!!!***

From Peerless Trout First Nation, AB. Cree singer-songwriter Bobbi-Jo Starr proudly announces the release of her debut single and official music video, “She Stands for Truth and Justice,” available on all major streaming platforms beginning August 1, 2026.

This powerful song is the first release from Starr’s upcoming eight-song debut album and serves, as a Woman’s call for unity to protect Water and protect our Children’s Rights for Sustenance.  

“She Stands for Truth and Justice,” encourages ALL Women to stand up, and use their voice in advocacy and bring change in their own hands. “This song is more than music—it’s a movement,” says Starr. “This song is meant to inspire all my sisters out there, that we are powerful and influential, to bring meaningful change into our communities. Every voice matters and every person has the power to create positive change.” 

Starr’s blends Indigenous teachings and storytelling into contemporary roots/rock/blues music, in hopes, she inspires future voices, in advocacy and protection, and encourage  people to build a strong relationship with water. 

As an emerging Indigenous artist, Bobbi-Jo Starr hopes her music will reach listeners across Canada and beyond, inspiring conversations and action about protecting water. “She Stands for Truth and Justice” will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, and other major streaming platforms on August 1. This song will also be made available on EARSHOT DISTRIBUTION.

“She Stands For Truth and Justice” was recorded at Riverdale Recorders in Edmonton, Alberta with Producer, Harry Gregg and Sound Engineer Scott Franchuk. The musicians recorded on this track is Brendon Lyons on Drums, Chad Murphy on Guitar, Brennan Cameron on keys, Harry Gregg on Bass, and Mallory Chipman on backing vocals.

Bobbi-Jo Starr (Kisikaw Iskwew - Daylight Woman) is an Indigenous singer songwriter from Peerless Trout First Nation, Ab., in Treaty 8 Territory.

I described the emotions I felt and visualized the images I wrote in this song. Bobbi-Jo Starr worked with Producer Harry Gregg and Sound Engineer Scott Franchuk from Riverdale Recorders in Edmonton, Alberta. “Riverdale Recorders gave me high energy Roots Rock sound I was looking for and help my song reach its full potential. Producer Harry Gregg streamline this song into full production with musicians that made the process of recording easy, and I look forward to doing it again.”
